November 9th: “Give to the Max Day”

Friends and Supporters -

It’s always exciting to think about the great work we are doing with the kids in Washington DC.

And, while I’m really passionate about the kids, I know we can’t do it without you….so here’s something else really important!

On November 9th, thousands of area residents are going to show their support for their favorite nonprofit through Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington.

Through November 9th, every donation and donor we get will go further to help us claim a share of more than $2million in donations expected to be raised.

Everyone can be a philanthropist on November 9th, and we have a matching grant for up to $1,000 so that your contribution will be doubled! Every single dollar counts!

What really has me excited is that this is going to be a big event, and everyone will be talking about who they’re supporting. Think “American Idol” and we’re in the try-outs but need your support to make it to the top.

We need you to help us with these three things:

1) Mark November 9th on your calendar and add this giving link. http://give2max.razoo.com/story/Washington-D-C-Police-Foundation

2) Follow us on Facebook and http://www.dcpolicefoundation.org/ and help build the buzz.

3) Spread the word! Forward this email to your family and friends along with a personal note as to why you believe in our work, and why they should give on November 9th.

Help spread the excitement. Tell your friends and family why you think they should help us with their donation. Please be our champion!

Thanks for your help!

Sincerely,

Joe Persichini

Welcome

Welcome everyone to the new website, and blog of the DC Police Foundation!

We have a lot of exciting news for the upcoming year and I am excited about the opportunity to share it with all of you through this blog. Our theme for this year is “Energize and Grow” and we have been doing exactly that.  We hired Benita Jenkins as our new Development Director, who initiated my blogging, and we have begun an intense new membership drive that has yielded us 15 new Foundations members!  We also began the development of our new Jr. Cadet Program which we hope to roll out in May of this year at two schools in the District.

I look forward to being connected to each of you and encourage you to send me your observation, comments and suggestions as I begin posting here on a regular basis!

Hello world!

Welcome to WordPress.com. This is your first post. Edit or delete it and start blogging!

As the holiday season approaches, we reflect on the challenges,
accomplishments, and positive impact we’ve had on so many lives.

The Washinton DC Police Foundation and the outstanding men & women of the Metropolitan Police Department should be proud of their contributions to residents that are facing difficult times.  As the MPD encounters critical budget challenges, the work of our Foundation becomes even more significant each day.

As you consider your personal year-end or holiday contirubtions this season, we ask that you include the Washington DC Police Foundation.

Heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of your for your generous time and contributions in making the Washington DC Police Foundation a true asset to the District.

I look forward to an energizing and productive 2011 and wish you and your family a happy, healthy and safe new year.

Happy Holidays,

Joe
